The Newtown Youth Academy inspires Newtown area residents, particularly the youth, by hosting and facilitating affordable and sponsored programs, that promote health, fitness and general well being, such as community events, fitness, training, and sport competitions.

Parent ConnectionsThe mission of the Newtown Parent Connection is to educate and empower the community in the prevention of substance abuse and to embrace families in crisis. NPC recognizes now, more than ever, the need to embrace all families, especially those impacted by the traumatic events of December 14, 2012. The organization has expanded its vision to build and finance a permanent wellness, prevention and recovery support infrastructure for young people and families in the Newtown community.

Kevin’s Community Center (KCC)KCC provides free medical services to persons 18 years of age and older, who are uninsured or underinsured and who meet certain income guidelines. At present, KCC covers the towns of Newtown, Botsford, Dodgingtown, Sandy Hook, Hawleyville, Roxbury and Bridgewater.

Healing NewtownIn the wake of December 14th, HealingNewtown was created to facilitate, support, and coordinate all arts-focused efforts made on Newtown’s behalf today, tomorrow, and into the future. The project is managed by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission and supported by the Town of Newtown, The Cultural Alliance of Western CT, and The Connecticut Office of the Arts.

The S.H.A.C.K. (Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids)The mission of The S.H.A.C.K. is to provide a safe haven for children and families to come to heal, create and explore various art forms while expressing themselves artistically in a nurturing, safe environment. They offer free art, music and pet therapy and low cost, high quality classes in art, music and theatre. Our educational and therapeutic programs are taught by board certified and licensed professional therapists.
